Library rules and regulations

 

The Library is the teaching-learning hub for the faculty and students. College library is well-equipped with latest infrastructure, stocked with a good collection of books and periodicals. All the in-house operations in the library are fully automated. It is centrally air-conditioned, equipped with sixteen CCTV cameras and 18 desktop systems. Our college library is an institution within the institution. The young minds are exposed to ever expanding fields of knowledge which lies dormant in books and journals. An endeavour is to make them library minded. Library has a rich and diversified collection of documents covering all domains of higher education with more than 1 Lakh books on its open shelves  and  e-resources (6000+ ejournals and 30,00,000 + eBooks subscribed through INFLIBNET under N-list database. The college library is fully automated with LIBSYS software (Web Centric LSEase on cloud) An Online Public Access Catalogue is available for quick retrieval of information . About 550 students and staff visit the library daily to read books, magazines, newspapers and to do their assignments.


LIBRARY RULES     


Library remains open on all working days as : 

Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm and Saturday, 9am to 2pm.

No person shall enter the Library less than fifteen minutes before the time of closing.

Bags, personal belongings and books borrowed from other libraries must not be brought inside the library. These must be kept at the property counter.

Library does not accept any responsibility for loss or damage to personal property left on its premises.

While leaving the library, members are required to show their files, file covers, books etc. to the Library Staff on duty at the check – point.

Eating and sleeping are not allowed in the Library.

Readers should observe strict silence and switch off their Mobile – Phones in the Library premises.

Bring your ID card to enter/exit the Library and also to produce the same to the library staff as and when asked for.

Do not write upon, damage or mark any book belongings to the library.

Reference/ Rare Books and Magazines are available for consultation only in the Library.

Loss of the book should be immediately reported to the librarian and the matter settled by replacing the book or paying its prices within a week of due date. Delay fine, however, will be charged up to the date the matter is settled.

In case the book is out of print or is a rare book and its latest edition is not available, its price will be charged as per the rules applicable from time to time or as decided by the principal. The decision in this regard of the Principal shall be final and binding.

A misplaced book is temporarily lost. To avoid misplacement; books taken from the open shelves should be left on the nearest table/trolley.

The reader should check the books before borrowing to ensure that these are not damaged. If a book is found to be damaged or certain pages are missing, the borrower should get this statement recorded on the book, otherwise he/she shall be held responsible for the damage, discovered at the time of returning the books.

Users assume the obligation of keeping the library materials in good condition. Materials damaged, defected or lost must be replaced, otherwise the cost will be realized from the borrower.

Admission may be refused to anyone who violates the Library Rules and Regulations.


NO DUES CERTIFICATE 

a. Before the commencement of annual exams or before a student leaves college/ migrates he/she will have to obtain ‘No Dues Certificate’ from the Librarian.

b. After obtaining ‘No Dues Certificate’ books can be issued on payment of special security which is refundable.



The Library Rules and Regulations shall be modified from time to time and shall be binding on all concerned.
